Just finished up a new mallet quintet I’ve been working on called Things Seem Familiar. You can check out the first half of it here. The premiere of it will be on February 13, at James Madison University. Lots of other new and exciting news as well that I can’t release quite yet. Working on a couple of other pieces as well that I hope to have done fairly soon. Thanks to anyone that stops by and checks out the site.
Here is a video from a recent recital of me playing Khan Variations by Alejandro Vinao. Hope you enjoy!

I just recently finished a new work for Percussion Ensemble entitled “Shock and Awe.” The piece will be receiving its world premiere on February 26, 2011 by the JMU Percussion Ensemble at the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of James Madison University. For more information on the concert, visit this page. It is sure to be a great concert and my piece will be opening it!
Just finished up my newest snare solo (The Covert Chameleon). Should be available tomorrow. Who knew that a marching snare drum could be anything but loud….?
I’ve been working on getting some more solo works done and up on the site. Everything for the Full Drumline marching section is up and available. I finished a new tenor solo (Well That’s Odd!) and am working on a new snare solo right now. I’m also trying to finish up another easier snare and tenor duet. Keep checking back for more updates regularly. Also, check out the blog. I’m using this mainly as a percussion blog to post some of the main things I find out that are happening in the world of percussion. Thanks to all who stop by the site.
Well hopefully everyone has noticed that things look a little different. There’s a couple of new things with the site. There are now officially pieces up and available for sale. Just go check out the compositions page and take a look around. I am still in the process of uploading all the files to be available for purchase. The nice thing about this too is that everything will be available as a digital download meaning that you will receive it as soon as you purchase it. Just contact me if you have any questions as well. Keep checking back for more updates
My xylophone etude, Chrome Plated, is currently published in the 2010 MassChap Xylophone collection, available from Bachovich Publications, product number #0802. I’m excited to say that Chrome Plated was selected as one of the winners in the PAS Massachusetts Chapters Xylophone etude composition contest. If you are in the New England area, stop by the Massachusetts Day of Percussion on Sunday March 21st at the Boston Conservatory. More information on that is available here. There will also be a concert featuring some of the xylophone etudes selected and someone will be performing Chrome Plated on that concert. Once I have a recording or video I will post it on the site. Many thanks go out to Sam Solomon and all the judges who picked my piece to go into the book. There are many other great etudes in there as well so make sure you go buy a copy!
I’ve been busy over the break trying to get alot of things updated on the site. Check out the compositions page to see alot of pieces that have been added recently. Almost all of them have recordings as well. I’m exploring the possibility of making these available for sale as well. If anyone would like to see that happen, just contact me. Also I’ve added a rough video of me playing my 2008 PASIC tenor solo. I’m still trying to get the competition copy from PAS so if that ever happens, it’ll be up on the site. Been busy as well with lots of writing projects, specifically the JMU Indoor Drumline show. Keep checking back soon for more recordings and updates.
I’ve posted a marimba chorale that I wrote on the compositions page so anyone can download if they want. Maybe soon I will be able to post a recording of it as well. I’m currently working on the JMU indoor drumline music but my time should be freed up after graduation for more compositions. Be sure to go by the Tapspace site as well and check out all the new pieces they have available, including mine!
I’m proud to say that Double Take is available from Tapspace.com. I can’t say enough how much of a great company they are for being flexible with me and getting that piece out. Thanks to Murray Gusseck and the entire Tapspace team! There’s also alot of cool other stuff that they have just released as well that is definitely worth checking out. If anyone is heading to PASIC, be sure to stop by the Tapspace booth and take a look at my piece!
