about

I am a recent graduate of James Madison University where I received a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Music Industry. While at JMU, I performed with the Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, Concert and Symphonic Bands, Wind Symphony, Brass Band, Jazz Ensemble and numerous chamber ensembles.

In 2007, I performed with the JMU Wind Symphony at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., where I was a featured percussionist in David Gillingham’s “Concertino for Four Percussion and Wind Ensemble.” In 2008, I competed in and won the PASIC Individual Tenor Competition for the College Division. And in 2009, I returned to perform at The Kennedy Center with the JMU Brass Band, where again I was a featured soloist.

As a teacher and composer, I have written many new works and arrangements for every type of group from the concert hall to the marching band field. I currently teach or arrange with: Tallwood High School, Denbigh High School, Lafayette High School, Grafton High School, James Madison University Marching Royal Dukes, JMU Indoor Drumline and numerous others. A complete list of my clients is available on the Clients page.

I have studied with Mr. C. William Rice, Dr. Michael Overman, and Mr. Marlon Foster, performed in ensembles with Lalo Davila, Doug Cardwell, and performed in master classes given by Bob BeckerRobert Van Sice, Michael Burritt and Leigh Howard Stevens. I am actively involved with the Percussive Arts Society and am also a member of ASCAP.  I’m currently writing several new compositions, and am pursuing a Masters Degree in Percussion Performance at James Madison University.
